In 2019, Isaac Construction implemented Esker Accounts Payable as an AP Automation solution to address escalating invoice volume following its acquisition of Simcox Construction. The deployment targeted entrenched paper-based approval bottlenecks and visibility gaps that had been exacerbated by Simcox’s remote office and differing AP processes across the two companies.
Isaac configured Esker Accounts Payable to leverage automated invoice capture and data extraction, electronic approval workflow routing, and structured exception handling. The implementation emphasized reduction of manual data keying and double handling by instituting standardized workflow paths, image capture and OCR-driven indexing, and centralized processing controls consistent with AP Automation capabilities.
Fuji Xerox New Zealand was engaged to lead the implementation, handling configuration and rollout activities with Isaac’s AP team. Operational scope focused on accounts payable and procurement functions, unifying invoice processing across on-site and remote offices and enabling AP staff to track invoice status through the procurement cycle.
Governance and process changes included formalizing authorization routing, clarifying invoice routing responsibilities, and embedding workflow checkpoints to prevent invoices from sitting on desks or being passed indefinitely. Isaac’s AP staff were reported as eager for the solution prior to go live, reflecting a clear operational need to resolve paper-driven delays and improve invoice visibility.

In 2016 Isaac Construction implemented Fusion5 TimeFiler Time Management, a Time and Attendance solution. The project addressed people management and payroll integration needs for the New Zealand construction business.
Fusion5 TimeFiler Time Management was configured to capture job-costed time, record plant usage and enable mobile timesheet approvals, supporting field-to-payroll workflows and more accurate job cost allocation. The deployment emphasized mobile timesheet capture and supervisor approval workflows to reduce manual processing steps. Functional capabilities delivered included time capture, crew and plant tracking, and approval orchestration.
The implementation integrated Fusion5 TimeFiler Time Management with MYOB PayGlobal, which Isaac Construction selected in 2014, with Fusion5 acting as vendor and implementation partner. Operational coverage focused on payroll and job costing across site and project teams within New Zealand, aligning timesheet data directly to payroll processing. The case study cites removal of double-handling and improved cost allocation as realized operational outcomes.
