About the Customer
Ithaca College is an educational institution that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of business, health sciences, humanities, communication, and music. Ithaca College was founded in 1892 and is based in Ithaca, New York. The college has endowment assets of $195.2 million.
Scope and Challenges
By the end of 2017, the college was searching for a software solution to improve operational efficiency and enhance staff, faculty and student engagement. It needed to replace time-consuming manual processes with a modern HR solution that could track staff performance and enable seamless collaboration both on and off-campus.
They needed to modernize HR systems to give the faculty and staff full support and visibility that heightens the ability to focus on the ultimate goal of student success.
After evaluation of different platforms, the leadership decided to go with Oracle's HCM application, Oracle HCM Cloud.
Outcome and Implications
With Oracle HCM Cloud, Ithaca College will be able to automate many of its HR processes to improve information accuracy and reduce payroll errors. Access to instant analytics and impactful reporting features will enable more strategic HR initiatives and well-informed decision making by improving performance insights.
In addition, personalized cross-device experiences powered by Oracle HCM Cloud will enhance engagement by enabling students and faculty to quickly and easily access the information.
The college has a long history with Oracle. They use Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Taleo Cloud Service. They also have implemented Ellucian CRM Advance, Ellucian's CRM solution.
The project is expected to go live somewhere in 2019.
“In the past, our manual HR processes made it very difficult to distinguish our high performers and limited our ability to identify and engage with them. With Oracle HCM Cloud, we’re able to improve the communication between faculty, staff and students on-site and on any mobile-enabled device.” - said Brian Dickens, CHRO, Ithaca College.
