| Trustwell | Legacy | Trustwell FoodLogiQ | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, JBS implemented Trustwell FoodLogiQ as a Blockchain Platform to instrument product provenance and supply chain traceability for its organic chicken lines. The deployment was positioned to provide an immutable ledger of transactions across suppliers, enabling verification of origin, feed and handling conditions. This implementation aligned with broader industry adoption of blockchain by major processors to boost transparency and reduce fraud.
Trustwell FoodLogiQ was configured to capture batch level traceability events, supplier attestations and audit records, and to support compliance workflows common to food safety and organic certification. Functional modules implemented included distributed ledger recording, trace event ingestion, product genealogy tracking and supplier credential management. The Trustwell FoodLogiQ application was used to standardize provenance data and automate trace back and trace forward queries for supply chain teams.
Operationally the solution supported procurement, quality assurance, food safety and sustainability functions within JBS, centralizing provenance information for supplier monitoring and certification checks. Deployment focused on production and processing nodes where organic product chains intersect supplier attestations and certification records. The system therefore served as a single provenance data source to inform supplier governance and operational decision making.
The implementation was explicitly positioned to enhance consumer confidence and traceability, complementary to JBS Green Platform and JBS’s Transparent Livestock Farming Platform which also leverage blockchain for supplier monitoring and socio environmental compliance. Sector reporting highlights verifiable origin, reduced fraud risk and improved consumer trust as outcomes that the Trustwell FoodLogiQ Blockchain Platform was intended to support at JBS.
