In 2024, Spar UK deployed MPOS Till at SPAR Shields Road in the United Kingdom. MPOS Till, a Point Of Sale application, was installed alongside Electronic Shelf Edge Labels ESELs to address retail pricing and checkout processes at the store level.
The implementation emphasized checkout transaction handling and till operations combined with integrated pricing management, enabling price updates to be reflected between the till and shelf displays. Functional capabilities implemented included checkout processing, pricing synchronization workflows and automation of routine pricing tasks to reduce manual ticketing and reprice effort.
Integration scope centered on the linkage between MPOS Till and Electronic Shelf Edge Labels ESELs, creating an operational path for price changes to propagate from the point of sale environment to shelf edge displays. Operational coverage was localized to the SPAR Shields Road site, impacting store operations, merchandising and cashier workflows.
Governance and rollout were coordinated with ESEL deployment, with operational process changes focused on pricing update procedures and cashier handling of updated price data.
