In 2021 Lesieur implemented the Anaplan Platform to centralize financial planning and analysis under the EPM category. The deployment targeted core finance processes including annual budgeting, monthly closing, consolidated P&L reporting, and multidimensional variance analysis, with outputs distributed across the business to support decision makers.
The implementation configured Anaplan Platform models with formula driven, real time calculations to replace manual scripting, enabling scenario modeling and granular analysis by product, customer, sales network, cost centers, and profitability dimensions. Functional capabilities delivered include annual budget creation with two scheduled revisions per year, monthly financial close orchestration, P&L reporting, and flexible variance analysis that allows comparison of any combination of dimensions.
Lesieur adopted a cloud based architecture and integrated the Anaplan Platform with data flows from its SAP ERP to produce a consolidated, near real time view of the company financial position. The program was executed with implementation partner Micropole and completed in a five month rollout window to align with the March 2021 annual closing.
Governance included consultation with group IT, a decision to run the production close directly on the new platform without a parallel run, and a focus on building in house Anaplan skills supported by Micropole. Outcomes reported by Lesieur include approximately 20 percent less time spent on monthly closing and 30 to 40 percent less time creating and revising company wide budgets, along with broader democratization of analysis and a shift in finance effort toward commentary and business partnering.
