ABB Ability Ellipse APM was configured with emphasis on inventory management, spare parts planning, maintenance scheduling and cycle count orchestration. Configuration work captured operational tasks such as implementing production cycle count recording, batch expiry tracking, stock transfer workflows, order posting and debit note creation, and producing pack lists for pallet loading to support outbound customer deliveries. The implementation integrated ABB Ability Ellipse APM with Navision for posting quantities, order and stock transaction reconciliation, and it leveraged Inventory Optimizer together with Ellipse to review inventory usage and future requirements. Operational coverage included warehouse and inventory control teams, supply chain and production planning functions, and staff responsible for batch number verification, product strength checks and physical handling equipment operations. Governance centered on standard operating procedures for physical inventory and cycle counts, with the Ellipse APM deployment embedding SOP-driven workflows to standardize daily production cycle count records, traceability of batch numbers and expiry dates, and coordination of obsolete inventory disposition. The configuration formalized routine tasks such as creating pack lists, contacting customers about deliveries and posting inventory updates into Navision to maintain a single operational record of stock movements.
