In 2015 Lincoln National Corporation began a planning engagement for the Accenture Life Insurance & Annuity Platform (ALIP). The initiative was framed as an Insurance ERP effort focused on New Business initiation and policy lifecycle orchestration across the companys life and annuity product portfolio.
The engagement reviewed and documented existing workflows, configuration, and rules across all life and annuity products and produced a strategic roadmap and implementation plan for 2015. Work included ALIP platform implementation and configuration expertise to define the right migration and implementation approach, and to align platform configuration with product and underwriting rules.
The scope encompassed functional modules typical to Insurance ERP such as New Business initiation workflows, rules engine configuration, and policy administration interfaces, with explicit development of end to end budgeting requirements for the proposed implementation. The activity connected implementation planning to finance for budgeting and to product operations for rules and configuration alignment.
Governance deliverables centered on documented workflows, configuration controls, and an implementation roadmap intended to support phased rollout and configuration governance across affected business functions. The engagement positioned Lincoln National Corporation with Accenture Life Insurance & Annuity Platform (ALIP) as the Insurance ERP solution for New Business initiation, policy configuration, and related operational governance.
