LexisNexis Legacy LexisNexis PCLaw Legal Practice Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Litchfield Cavo implemented LexisNexis PCLaw as its Legal Practice Management platform. The engagement began in May 2018 and ran through April 2020, supporting Chicago based attorneys and the firm billing staff who prepared monthly client drafts and managed ongoing billing operations. LexisNexis PCLaw was used for core accounting and billing workflows, including preparation of monthly draft bills, time entry review, rate application, billing code and description management, and accounts receivable processing. Staff responsibilities included editing attorney client draft bills on request by time, rates, codes, and descriptions, pulling and attaching client receipts in paper or electronic form, and producing physical drafts for in-courier delivery when required. Client bill distribution included both physical mailing and electronic submission through e-billing hubs, specifically LEDES, Legal X Collaborati, Counsel Link, Counsel Link P2 and TyMetrix 360, reflecting integration of PCLaw billing output with external e-billing networks. Operational governance preserved attorney-level review and edit workflows and manual delivery options, and the firm was in transition to the new 3E system software during the engagement, affecting rollout sequencing and future billing architecture.
