Oracle Legacy Oracle JD Edwards World ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2013 2013
In 2013 Louisiana Legislative Auditor implemented Oracle JD Edwards World as an ERP Financial application to consolidate core financial and accounting processes supporting audit-related financial workflows. The deployment placed Oracle JD Edwards World at the center of the agency finance stack, serving the accounting, financial reporting, and audit support functions. The implementation included DBAM Module installation and targeted application development, with JDE World SQL and RPG ILE development used to extend native functionality. SAR updates and installation were used to manage code and object updates within the Oracle JD Edwards World environment, and custom SQL and RPG ILE artifacts were developed to meet agency-specific business rules. Architecturally the solution was hosted on an IBM iSeries platform for JDE World runtime, with Java middleware interfaces bridging transactional data to an MS SQL Server instance. These Java interfaces provided data synchronization between the iSeries application tier and MS SQL Server reporting or integration stores, enabling cross-platform data exchange while DBAM provided database administration and performance tooling on the JDE environment. Operational governance centered on SAR-driven change control and engineering ownership for application updates, with the Senior System Engineer responsible for JDE World SQL and RPG ILE development, SAR management, Java interface maintenance, and DBAM administration. The implementation impacted finance, accounting, and audit operations, and established a controlled release and development process for ongoing JDE World enhancements.
