In 2020, M.G.H. Family Health Center implemented OpenText ZENworks as its Endpoint Management solution to centralize control of clinical and administrative endpoints across its Michigan healthcare operations. The deployment focused on automating application distribution and system patching to reduce manual update effort and tighten device security.
OpenText ZENworks was configured to deliver Configuration Management, Patch Management and Full Disk Encryption capabilities. Implementation included packaging and automated distribution of applications, scheduled patch rollouts, enforcement of full disk encryption policy, and baseline configuration profiling to maintain consistent endpoint state.
The rollout covered clinical and administrative workstations across organizational sites in Michigan and aligned with existing device management workflows. Operational scope emphasized endpoint update orchestration, patch compliance tracking, and centralized inventory and asset visibility for IT operations.
Governance changes accompanied the technical rollout, establishing patch compliance targets, scheduled maintenance windows, and formal change control for update campaigns. The project used a phased rollout to minimize disruption and translated configuration governance into repeatable procedures for IT staff.
The implementation achieved over 90 percent patch compliance up from 65 percent and delivered roughly 90 percent time savings on device updates, with improved security, more predictable infrastructure costs and a full ROI within a year. OpenText ZENworks Endpoint Management now serves as the primary tool for endpoint configuration, patching and encryption at M.G.H. Family Health Center.
