In 2021 MAPFRE Salud ARS implemented Suprema BioStar 2 TA as a centralized Time and Attendance and access control platform across its Dominican Republic operations. The deployment targeted the insurer's nationwide footprint of 12 offices and 10 points of service, with integration and commissioning work concentrated in the nine floor main office, and the project covered a stated user population of 1,573 employees. FC Soluciones led the implementation with support from Tech Geeks.
The implementation centralized multiple functional modules on BioStar 2, including the Time and Attendance module for worktime, overtime, vacation and exception management, the visitor module for controlled entry workflows, and elevator control through the Output Module OM-120. Hardware and controller layer components included Suprema Smart Controller CoreStation CS-40 units, Door Module DM-20 expansion modules, Secure Modules and multiple reader endpoints. The kit of installed devices listed in project documentation includes 12 CoreStation units, 66 Door Module units, 2 Output Module units, 11 Secure Modules, 1 FaceStation 2-D and 2 BioStation 2-OIPW units, plus 14 enclosures. Suprema BioStar 2 TA is cited as the central orchestration layer for these capabilities.
Integrations were explicitly configured between BioStar 2 and Active Directory to streamline user provisioning and access rights, and XPR plus HID card readers were connected to CoreStation panels via Wiegand interfaces. A FaceStation 2 face plus card unit was positioned at the main data center entry to enforce biometric entry for high assurance access. Elevator control, visitor management and vehicle tag recognition were folded into the single BioStar 2 platform to reduce siloed access workflows.
Governance and operational outcomes documented by the vendor and partner emphasize centralized rights management and real time device-to-platform data transfer, enabling faster authentication and simplified administration. CoreStation CS-40 performance characteristics, including the ability to run up to eight authentications in parallel, are noted as improving processing times and reducing bottlenecks. The implementation is presented as delivering a more secure and stable centralized access and Time and Attendance environment for MAPFRE Salud ARS.
