Tata Consultancy Services Legacy Quartz Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Maroclear participated in TCS-powered tests that used Quartz Blockchain, a Blockchain Platform, to perform cross-border securities delivery-versus-payment settlement between central depositories. The engagement used Quartz Blockchain on the TCS BaNCS Network and targeted post-trade settlement workflows, validating real-time settlement using tokenized cash coins and reduced currency risk. The deployment integrated TCS BaNCS Market Infrastructure with Quartz Blockchain for permissioned ledger settlement, enabling settlement messaging and custody reconciliation workflows aligned to market infrastructure functions. Functional modules inferred from the test include permissioned ledger settlement, delivery-versus-payment orchestration, and market infrastructure connectivity between central securities depositories. The work was executed as a proof of concept between central depositories under controlled permissioned access on Quartz Blockchain, and the tests demonstrated real-time settlement using cash coins and reduced currency risk as stated in the TCS announcement.
