In 2015 Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Trust deployed AlternativeSoft Investment Management to support investment operations, selecting the AlternativeSoft Investment Management application within the Portfolio and Investment Management category. The initial deployment focused on centralized portfolio control, consolidated position reporting, and decision support for the firm’s investment team.
AlternativeSoft Investment Management was configured to deliver portfolio accounting, performance measurement, risk analytics, and trade lifecycle workflows, leveraging Portfolio and Investment Management functional modules for position aggregation, valuation, and scheduled reporting. Configuration work emphasized accounting rollups, asset class segmentation, and automated analytics to support investment decision processes.
The implementation included endpoint and network architecture work, migrating Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon systems from Windows 7 64 bit Professional to Windows 10 64 bit Professional, and executing Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Pro upgrades and migrations. Security and encryption controls were implemented using Symantec Endpoint Encryption, and perimeter protections were enforced via Cisco ASA and Fortinet Fortigate 200D appliances, with the application operating alongside internally managed server and client infrastructure.
Operational governance was administered through Active Directory management, creating new users, distribution lists, security groups, and room objects to enforce role based access for the AlternativeSoft Investment Management environment. Rollout combined Windows endpoint migrations with application configuration, aligning investment workflows with centralized user provisioning and encrypted endpoint policies.
