In 2005, Masterpet implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment focused on supporting national order fulfillment for pet supplies and accessories, providing a central system for product location management, order processing, and inventory visibility.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV was configured to manage warehouse procedures including pick list generation, stock location records, weekly cyclic stocktaking schedules, and quality control checkpoints for all picked orders. Operational workflows emphasized accurate order picking and processing, with staff instructed to navigate product locations inside Navision to locate SKUs and confirm picks.
Picking operations used RF technology for grocery supermarket orders, with pick confirmations and quality checks recorded against orders in Microsoft Dynamics NAV to maintain inventory accuracy and support order resolution. The application also supported customer service workflows for resolving inquiries and tracked outbound sales activity driven by KPI targets.
Governance and process controls included training programs for new staff on product knowledge and Navision navigation, mandatory reporting of product discrepancies within pick locations, and KPI monitoring targeting 75 or more lines picked per hour. Weekly cyclic stocktaking and embedded quality control routines were institutionalized to align warehouse operations and sales order processing with the ERP Financial system.

In 2005 Masterpet implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV Payroll as its core Payroll application to support onsite payroll and human resources administration at the Prestons NSW 2170 location. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Payroll deployment was used to centralize payroll processing and employee recordkeeping for the organization.
Configuration and functional coverage focused on payroll processing workflows to run weekly payruns for approximately 150 employees, employee master data and contract setup, superannuation reconciliation with payment submission to relevant super funds, and handling workers compensation claim coordination with insurers. Microsoft Dynamics NAV Payroll also delivered HR-adjacent capabilities to ensure new hire contracts were correctly established in the payroll system and to maintain recurring payroll schedules.
Operational scope combined payroll administration with credit control responsibilities tied to the same site, with credit control tasks including approving new credit applications, implementing collection processes to ensure timely accounts receivable activity, liaising with sales representatives nationally to preserve client relationships, and arranging payment plans for clients experiencing payment difficulties. Governance and process responsibilities remained with the payroll administrator role, which reconciled superannuation accounts and managed interactions with insurance companies for workers compensation claims while operating the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Payroll system.
