In 2018, McGraw Hill implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform for corporate finance and accounting. The engagement was led by an internal ERP Lead beginning June 2018, who drove development and continuous improvement across key business systems and supervised Business Analysts for system enhancements, maintenance and upgrades.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to support core financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Procurement, using standard Oracle EBS financial workflows and controls. Configuration emphasized chart of accounts design, transaction workflow orchestration and automation of routine financial processing, with functional streams covering requirements definition, solution design, configuration, testing and phased rollout coordination with finance stakeholders.
The implementation integrated Oracle E-Business Suite with other key business systems to enable order to cash and procure to pay processes, aligning transactional flows with operational stakeholders. Integration planning and data mapping were coordinated between internal teams and partner consulting to support month end accounting, vendor payments and receivables management. Operational coverage focused on the finance organization with cross functional touch points into procurement and operations.
Governance was formalized under the ERP Lead role, establishing prioritized enhancement and maintenance pipelines, a cadence for upgrades and continuous improvement, and supervision of BA resources. The team worked closely with partner consulting and internal stakeholders to deliver complex business solutions and automate finance workflows. Oracle E-Business Suite remains McGraw Hills primary ERP Financial system, supporting ongoing enhancements since 2018.
