In 2022 MediKarma deployed 1up Analyze to extend its Interoperability capabilities, enabling patient-driven acquisition of medical records from hospital EHRs across the United States. The implementation aligned 1up Analyze with MediKarma's patient-facing AI platform to improve access to longitudinal clinical data and to feed downstream analytics for personalized recommendations.
The configuration emphasized SQL-on-FHIR query capability provided by 1up Analyze, with setup to normalize FHIR resources and expose queryable clinical datasets for BI and analytics. Functional modules implemented included patient authorization and consent orchestration, record retrieval workflows, FHIR resource indexing, and SQL-on-FHIR translation to support MediKarma's recommendation pipelines.
Integrations connected 1up Analyze to hospital EHR endpoints via the 1upHealth interoperability service layer and to MediKarma's AI inference and BI tooling, enabling orchestration of patient record requests and structured data extracts. Governance focused on enforcing patient-directed access controls and consent workflows, and on standardizing clinical data for analytics consumption, improving MediKarma's ability to collect longitudinal clinical records for its AI-driven patient engagement use cases.
