In 2008 Mediplus implemented TotalSoft Charisma Analyzer for Analytics and BI as part of a broader Charisma ERP deployment to address high-volume pharmaceutical distribution reporting and control requirements. Mediplus, a member of A&D Pharma Holdings, selected the TotalSoft Charisma Analyzer to centralize analytics and business intelligence capabilities within the company's financials and operational landscape.
The implementation extended Charisma ERP to support financials, accounting and controlling processes and to manage computable items that enable more granular tracking of the nature and type of expenditures. TotalSoft Charisma Analyzer provided a BI-driven reporting engine with configurable ad-hoc report creation and drill-down analysis, and was engineered to work with large datasets measured in hundreds of megabytes to support comparative statistics and decision support.
The project emphasized native integration across the distribution ecosystem, including drug store management, pharmaceutical product distribution operations, sales force automation SFA and warehouse management WMS workflows, plus a parallel e-commerce development for web services and online order processing. The rollout was compressed by a short timeline requirement, the decision was taken at the end of 2008 and since January 2009 the solution ran in parallel with the incumbent environment to validate stock accuracy, balances and report outputs before full consolidation.
Governance and operational outcomes were centered on improved data accuracy and faster situation preparation, with the IT organization reporting that on-time delivery of actionable reports increased business efficiency. The IT&C director also cited a favorable performance to cost ratio for Charisma as a factor in the implementation decision.
