Integrated Inventory Solutions Legacy INxSQL Distribution ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2010 2010 In 2010, Metric Specialties implemented INxSQL as their Distribution ERP. INxSQL was established as the back office system of record for the small distribution business, serving as the single source of truth for product, price and inventory data. The deployment centered on catalog and product master management, pricing engines, and inventory control modules within INxSQL, which together managed SKU definitions, tiered pricing, and stock availability. Configuration inferred from the migration case study included product data modeling, price lists, physical inventory tracking, and inventory reservation capabilities to support order fulfillment workflows. Architecturally the initial integration pattern relied on nightly flat file exports from INxSQL to the storefront, creating a batch oriented data flow for catalog and inventory updates. The storefront later migrated to Shopify Plus with real time INxSQL synchronization, converting the integration to an API based pattern for product, price and inventory updates and enabling INxSQL to feed live storefront queries. Operational scope focused on core distribution functions across the companys back office, with INxSQL supporting purchasing, fulfillment coordination, and sales order validation tied to product and price master data. Governance shifted from batch publication to centralized master data control in INxSQL, requiring process changes for product updates and pricing approvals to maintain the ERP as the authoritative source.
