In 2024 Metro Cable Sierra Leone deployed the Velmie Platform as its Core Banking solution to power Vult, a Metro Cable product. The Velmie Platform delivered a digital-banking core and a white label mobile app to serve consumer banking and payments use cases in Sierra Leone. The implementation on the Velmie Platform included core accounts management, mobile money integration, USSD deposits and card issuance and payments functionality. Functional capabilities implemented covered account lifecycle management, transaction processing, card provisioning and payments orchestration, and front end mobile banking for customer onboarding and engagement. Integrations were executed for mobile money networks and USSD deposit channels to enable cash-in and payments across the Sierra Leone market, and the deployment targeted retail banking and payments functions for the Vult product. The rollout scaled rapidly, with the case study reporting 475,000 plus users onboarded in its first year, and governance centered on a single vendor delivered digital core and branded mobile application for Metro Cable Sierra Leone.
