In 2008, MicroStrategy implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to support ERP Financial functions across its North American accounting operations. The deployment addressed core accounting needs for a publicly traded software company with centralized general ledger oversight and multi-state payroll for US and Canadian employees covering approximately 1000 staff, while supporting an accounting organization of up to 15 professionals responsible for month end, quarter end, and annual closes.
The implementation configured Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne modules for general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, headquarters intercompany accounting, and travel and expense submission and reimbursement workflows. Configuration work emphasized period close automation, journal management, account reconciliation processes, and payment processing, aligning Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with established GAAP reporting and SEC disclosure support activities.
Integrations included the T&E submission and reimbursement system and payroll payout processes, and the ERP was instrumented to support a finance transformation that moved Accounts Payable and T&E operations to an offshore shared service center. Payment processing was extended to support ACH vendor disbursements, and JDE upgrades and related testing were executed to ensure continuity of accounting operations during change windows.
Governance and controls were formalized around SOX internal control requirements, comprehensive testing cycles, and a structured organizational design covering general ledger, intercompany operations, payroll, accounts payable, and T&E. The initiative included staff training and reconciliations process improvements, with explicit participation in testing and validation to ensure business requirements were met and reporting data remained reliable for financial reporting and disclosure.
The program delivered explicit operational outcomes documented during the period, including implementation of an ACH payment process that reduced paper checks by 90 percent, a reduction in time to close from 15 days to 7 days for US and Canadian operations, measurable improvements in account reconciliation timeliness and accuracy, and an enhanced T&E reimbursement cadence to weekly electronic funds deposit. These outcomes were achieved within the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP Financial deployment and supporting process and governance changes.

| ProcessMaker | Legacy | ProcessMaker BPM | Process Mining | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 MicroStrategy implemented ProcessMaker BPM to automate cloud operations processes, using the Process Maker application to deliver online workflow solutions and to support its Process Mining initiatives. The engagement focused on increasing transparency and performance of operational workflows by embedding ProcessMaker BPM as the process orchestration layer for cloud services.
The deployment used a single page application front end built on AngularJS, with a backend architecture leveraging MVC C# and Web API 2.0 for service endpoints. ProcessMaker BPM workflows were built and optimized using ProcessMaker triggers and JavaScript, with persistence on MySQL and supporting PHP components where required, creating an integrated workflow and rules execution stack.
Integrations included Single Sign On implemented with OAuth2.0 to provide a common authentication plane across several IS enterprise applications, and a BillingGateway project that connected application subscription flows to Zuora for cloud service monetization. Service oriented architecture principles were applied to expose workflow capabilities across multiple applications, using Web API and WCF style service patterns to enable cross-application orchestration and reuse.
Operational governance followed an agile delivery model, operating in bi-weekly sprints with daily stand-ups to manage iterative workflow development and rollout. The implementation targeted cloud operations and enterprise application workflows, and explicitly aimed to increase transparency and performance of processes while enabling subscription-driven profitability for MicroStrategy cloud services.
