In 2017, Mid America Contracting implemented the Swipeclock Time Keeping System from SwipeClock Workforce Management as its Time and Attendance solution to support payroll and workforce timekeeping across its commercial construction operations. The implementation was part of a broader IT modernization alongside NetSuite and Procore integration efforts, and the firm operates in 39 states with roughly 100 employees headquartered in Columbia Illinois.
The Swipeclock Time Keeping System was configured to handle core timekeeping and payroll processing functions, receiving employee time data for payroll workflows. Avicado developed an automation approach using Boomi and an RPA bot to move NetSuite data into the Swipeclock Time Keeping System, enabling automated timecard population and reducing manual timekeeping tasks.
Integrations were explicit and coordinated, with Boomi providing a NetSuite and Procore Solution Accelerator that delivered near real time bi directional synchronization between NetSuite and Procore, while Avicado managed the Boomi environment and the RPA integration into Swipeclock. The integrated topology connected field and project data from Procore through NetSuite to payroll outputs in the Swipeclock Time Keeping System, improving data flow between operations, finance, and payroll teams. Prior integration work had been tied to a standalone desktop with no remote access which created operational risk during COVID shutdowns, and the new architecture provided remote flexibility.
Governance and operating model changes centered on Avicado operating the Boomi environment and automating manual handoffs, with process orchestration moved into the integration layer. The firm reported explicit outcomes including elimination of roughly 66 hours a month of manual data work, a breakdown of 40 hours a month saved on integration and operational tasks and 26 hours on timekeeping and payroll processing, and acceleration of integration projects by five times compared with prior alternatives, while improving data accuracy and visibility for finance and operations.
