In 2020, MIFA deployed the Claris Companion Platform as a tablet based program to expand senior services across Memphis and Shelby County, using the Collaboration application to address social isolation among older adults. The initiative began with an initial cohort of 50 users and scaled to about 100 tablets while adding scheduled virtual activities such as bingo to increase routine engagement.
The Claris Companion Platform implementation focused on endpoint device provisioning and a staff facing dashboard, enabling real time monitoring and push notification capabilities for program coordinators. Functional capabilities implemented included tablet based video and messaging workflows, activity scheduling, and notification orchestration to manage virtual group sessions and one to one outreach.
Operationally the rollout supported pilots for remote health monitoring while remaining centered on social care delivery, with use spanning MIFA staff, volunteers, and participating seniors across the Memphis and Shelby County service area. The deployment emphasized Collaboration workflows for care coordination and program operations, enabling staff to track participation and deliver timely outreach from central dashboards.
Governance adjustments included instrumenting staff dashboard monitoring and notification processes to support ongoing virtual activities and remote engagement pilots, shifting parts of outreach from in person visits to tablet enabled interactions. The program scale up from 50 to around 100 tablets and the addition of virtual activities increased seniors' virtual connections and engagement, reflecting platform adoption within MIFA senior services.
