In 2010 MIQ Logistics implemented MercuryGate Customs and Trade Compliance, deploying the application as part of its MercuryGate Transportation Management System for international transportation management. MercuryGate Customs and Trade Compliance is a Governance, Risk and Compliance application that supported MIQ's goals for improved shipment visibility and multi modal optimization across North America and global lanes.
The deployment configured MercuryGate Customs and Trade Compliance to handle customs declaration generation, tariff classification, duty and tax calculation, trade compliance screening, and customs document management. Configuration emphasized automation of customs filing and standardized compliance rule sets to align customs processing with shipment lifecycle and booking workflows.
The Customs and Trade Compliance capability was embedded within MIQ's MercuryGate TMS deployment, linking customs workflows to international routing, multi modal optimization, and tracking. Operational coverage included customs operations, international logistics, and trade compliance teams working across North America and global lanes, integrating regulatory controls directly into execution workflows.
Governance changes centralized customs processing within the TMS and introduced standardized trade compliance workflows and audit trails to support operational consistency. Module usage is inferred from MIQ's long standing MercuryGate TMS relationship and MercuryGate's 2023 acquisition of ITS which folded ITS customs capabilities into MercuryGate's product suite, and the implementation contributed to improved shipment visibility and enhanced international transportation management.
