In 2019, Missoma implemented Avalara E-Invoicing and Live Reporting as part of its broader Avalara finance and tax automation stack. The deployment complemented existing use of Avalara AvaTax, Avalara Returns and Managed VAT Reporting to automate VAT and sales tax across multiple jurisdictions, and is classified under AP Automation. The implementation focused on raising compliance fidelity within finance and tax operations and centralizing invoice level tax controls.
Configuration work emphasized e invoicing capture and live reporting feeds, automated tax calculation and document level tax determination, and configuration of VAT return generation aligned to Avalara Returns and managed reporting capabilities. Avalara E-Invoicing and Live Reporting was configured to apply centralized tax rules and VAT rates, reducing manual remediation in accounts payable invoice processing and validation workflows.
Operational coverage extended across Missoma's multi jurisdictional sales footprint with governance centered in the finance and tax function, aligning invoicing, filing and audit trails under a unified reporting layer. The application operated alongside AvaTax, Avalara Returns and Managed VAT Reporting to produce continuous reporting artifacts for compliance and to streamline cross border VAT handling and audit readiness.
Governance and process changes instituted centralized tax rule stewardship, standardized invoice validation prior to posting and a single source for VAT reporting outputs, outcomes which Missoma reported as improving accuracy and eliminating previous compliance headaches. The result is an AP Automation oriented architecture that unifies e invoicing orchestration, live tax reporting and automated VAT return workflows within Missoma's finance operating model.
