In 2020 Moda Health implemented Cognizant TriZetto Facets as its Core Admin Processing System to support member and claims operations across medical, dental, and pharmacy lines of business. Cognizant TriZetto Facets serves as the primary claims adjudication and membership hub for customer service workflows, eligibility determination, benefit configuration, and prior authorization handling.
The implementation configures standard Core Admin Processing System functional modules including claims adjudication and adjustment, eligibility and enrollment management, benefits and plan configuration, provider directory management, and pharmacy adjudication controls such as point of sale overrides. The deployment supports workflows for claim research and manual benefit calculations, routing of configuration versus processing errors for correction, and documented interaction handling across phone, chat, email, and in person channels used by front line Health Navigator staff.
Operational integrations documented in practice include use of Cognizant TriZetto Facets alongside Benefit Tracker, Content Manager, the eviCore portal, Navitus, CoverMyMeds, and the Moda 360 Navigator Console, with staff regularly accessing multiple internal and external websites concurrently while resolving member issues. The system is operational across Medical Claims, Healthcare Services, Dental Claims, Dental Provider Relations, Marketing, Group Integration, Medical Provider Relations, Pharmacy Operations, and Case Management, reflecting a broad functional footprint supporting eligibility checks, claim status inquiries, authorizations, provider searches, and pharmacy exception handling.
Governance and operational controls emphasize training and certification, with staff required to complete Effortless Experience training and ongoing skills development tied to service level agreements for Performance Guarantee groups. Operational procedures include formal request paths for claim adjustments, escalation processes for configuration corrections, and integrated case handling between Claims and downstream teams to close member issues. Cognizant TriZetto Facets is explicitly positioned as Moda Health Core Admin Processing System technology that centralizes adjudication, member service, and benefits administration for the insurer.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2013 | 2018 |
In 2013, Moda Health implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to build a centralized Analytics and BI capability. The implementation targeted enterprise reporting and ETL to support multiple Lines of Business, with scheduled monthly SSRS reports and production job monitoring across servers.
The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) deployment included extensive T-SQL development, stored procedures, and logical data models built on SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2. Functional modules delivered comprised SSIS ETL packages for staging and main tables, SSAS analytical models, SSRS report design and distribution, and data archival into history tables to maintain backups.
Data integration identified DB2 and Oracle sources and defined Data Source Views to feed the SQL Server BI stack, and SSIS packages were created to extract, transform and load data from those sources. Operationalization used Sub Version for source control, scheduling via Tidal and SQL Server Jobs, job alerting for success or failure, and production deployments coordinated through BMC Remedy change and problem tickets.
Governance and operational support covered monitoring and tuning using SQL Profiler and Index Tuning Wizard, creation of alerts for scheduled jobs, and automation of recurring processes. The delivery team worked closely with end users to reconcile data issues across Hyperion, Rex and SSRS reports, and supported testing, bug fixes, documentation and maintenance using Visual Studio, Red Gate and standard BI lifecycle practices.
