In 2015 Multipulse Electronics implemented Sage Business Cloud Accounting (formerly Sage One) as its ERP Financial application to centralize accounting, invoicing, and month end reporting for the company finance function. The implementation was positioned to support core accounting processes used by the Woking finance team and to provide a single bookkeeping and VAT reporting platform for the SME electronics manufacturer.
Sage Business Cloud Accounting was configured to support standard ERP Financial workflows including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, VAT submission, basic payroll interfacing and invoicing, and inventory valuation support used for monthly stock counts. The application was applied to produce monthly management accounts, support a 12 month rolling forecast, monitor cash flow and supervise credit control activities performed by the Finance Manager.
The finance manager who led the change had previously implemented Sage 50 and ensured integrations between financial systems and the company ERP software, and later implemented the switch to Sage Business Cloud Accounting. Operational coverage included the entire finance department functions, liaison with the Production Manager for sales cost analysis, supplier and sub contractor payments, and preparation of audit and statutory returns such as VAT and P11d.
Governance actions implemented alongside the software included consolidation of financial policies and procedures, formalization of month end close and stock count processes, and centralization of reporting responsibilities. By March 2020 the finance function was operated by a single Finance Manager using Sage Business Cloud Accounting to handle end to end accounting tasks, creating a concentration of operational knowledge in one role.
