In 2010, Mutual Fire Insurance implemented ISI Enterprise Biling as part of a broader adoption of the ISI Enterprise policy administration suite. Mutual Fire Insurance of British Columbia is a regional property and casualty carrier writing farm, residential, commercial property and liability coverage across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, and the deployment was positioned to address core processing across the insurer with a modest IT budget and limited internal resources.
The implementation deployed ISI Enterprise as a fully integrated, browser based property and casualty policy administration suite, with explicit coverage of policy administration, claims, billing, accounting and reinsurance. The project also enabled supporting subsystems that include rating, document production, CRM, workflow and reporting, and the workstream explicitly addressed Insurance Billing Administration through the billing and accounting modules.
Operational coverage extended to underwriting, claims, finance and customer service functions across the company wide processing environment in the stated provinces. The deployment emphasized configurability and workflow automation to increase processing efficiencies and to allow quicker response to market changes without naming or integrating other third party systems.
Governance was organized around limited internal IT resources and a constrained budget, relying on the vendor delivered, configurable solution to automate the majority of business processes. MFI leadership stated the implementation would automate most processes and serve as the foundation for future growth, and the ISI Enterprise Biling deployment was positioned to deliver the competitive agility the insurer sought.
