In 2020, Native Roots was in the midst of a multi-year rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Native Roots implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial core, initiating work in 2018, pausing for a year during the COVID-19 pandemic, and completing the full implementation in late 2022.
The initial configuration concentrated on accounting, finance and inventory management modules within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, then expanded to support cultivation, post-harvest and manufacturing facility processes. Configuration and automation focused on capturing inventory movements and transactional records in the ERP to align production scheduling, inventory control and financial posting.
Native Roots fully integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with its point of sale solution Dutchie to automate purchase orders, inventory transfers and transaction processing so POS-driven activities generate ERP records. That integration also pushes product movement events from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central into Metrc to report received inventory and transfers between stores and off premise storage for regulatory track and trace.
Operationally the rollout centralized transaction capture so that actions in Dutchie are recorded directly in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central rather than requiring manual double entry, and those events are forwarded to Metrc to meet compliance workflows. The deployment sequence from finance to production to retail aligned governance across accounting, cultivation, manufacturing and store operations and established the ERP as the system of record for inventory lifecycle.
Native Roots describes elimination of double entry and end to end seed to sale traceability as primary outcomes, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central functioning as the integration hub between Dutchie and Metrc for compliance and operational coordination. The ERP Financial deployment supports core business functions including accounting, inventory management, production tracking and retail reconciliation.
