In 2017, Natural Baby Shower implemented Amazon Pay as a Payment Processing capability on its public ecommerce site provided by Amazon Web Services AWS. The UK retail company with approximately 75 employees embedded Amazon Pay into its online checkout to accept customer payments using Amazon account credentials and to streamline the checkout experience for web shoppers.
The implementation centered on the Amazon Pay checkout integration, leveraging Amazon Pay widgets and tokenization to handle payment authorization, capture, and refund flows while minimizing direct handling of cardholder data. Amazon Pay was configured in the site checkout path to work with the retailer’s order management and shipping workflows, and governance focused on merchant account configuration, checkout rule sets, and operational procedures for payment exceptions and refunds managed by the retail operations team.

Brightpearl WMS manages inventory, order processing and returns across the retailer's distribution footprint and was configured to centralize operational visibility for warehousing and fulfillment.
Configuration emphasized warehouse execution capabilities typical of Workforce Management deployments, including inventory control, order allocation, picking workflows and stocktake processes. The Brightpearl WMS implementation instituted structured pick and pack workflows and stocktaking routines to reduce errors and accelerate cycle times.
Operational scope covered UK ecommerce fulfillment across multiple warehouses, with the system serving purchasing, warehouse and fulfillment teams. | Brightpearl | Legacy | Brightpearl ERP | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Natural Baby Shower implemented Brightpearl ERP to centralize inventory and order management across its Shopify Plus webstore, two warehouses, a retail outlet, and multiple online marketplaces. The deployment focused on core Retail Management capabilities to support omnichannel operations for an online retailer of natural, organic and ethically made baby products with 25 staff engaged in operations and customer service. The primary objective was to deliver real-time inventory visibility and to streamline warehouse workflows.
Brightpearl ERP was configured to deliver warehousing and warehouse management system functionality including barcode scanning for pick and pack, handheld scanning for stocktakes, and location-based inventory control, alongside modules for purchase orders, customer data management, and accounting. The implementation exposed live profit and loss reporting on a daily basis and operational dashboards that enabled tracking of returning customers and order-level data. Brightpearl’s WMS replaced paper goods notes and manual tally charts with automated stock reconciliation and pick guidance to reduce human error.
Operationally, the Brightpearl ERP instance was integrated with the Shopify Plus webstore and marketplace sales channels to consolidate orders and maintain real-time stock levels across sites. The system supported two physical warehouse sites, the despatch function, and front-line customer service workflows, centralizing order orchestration, returns handling, and replenishment tasks. Functional ownership spanned operations, purchasing, customer service, and finance.
The rollout was supported by Brightpearl’s implementation team with live training sessions and video how-to guides to accelerate adoption of new scanning and stocktaking procedures. Governance changes formalized picking workflows, exception handling, and daily reconciliation routines, shifting work away from ad hoc individual initiatives toward standardized processes. Hiring and role profiles for warehouse staff were adjusted to reflect the more structured, empowered operational model.
Reported outcomes included halving the time spent on inventory counts and stocktakes described as twice as fast and more accurate, a significant reduction in mispicks, and faster turnaround on inventory reconciliation. Real-time inventory visibility and daily P and L reporting improved operational decision making and freed time for sourcing and customer focused activities. Natural Baby Shower credited Brightpearl ERP with increased speed and accuracy inside the system and with enabling organized business processes that support future growth.
