In 2013, Naurex implemented Clario Site Payments to automate investigator payments for a Phase II clinical trial spanning sites in the United States. Clario Site Payments, deployed as a Payment Processing application, was applied within the finance process area to reduce manual payment work and improve cash management.
The implementation configured investigator payment workflows and scheduling, automated disbursement logic for per visit and milestone payments, and centralized payment tracking and reporting for trial finance operations. These functional capabilities aligned with Payment Processing modules such as payment orchestration, payment scheduling, and cash reconciliation to support clinical trial payments.
Naurex initially used Clinverse’s ClinPay to deliver the investigator payment automation, and ClinPay's subsequent integration into the Bioclinica and Clario product lineage supports mapping this deployment to Clario Site Payments. Operational coverage was limited to the Phase II study across US investigative sites, with primary users in finance and clinical operations overseeing payments.
Governance emphasized finance process ownership, investigator payment approval workflows, and centralized controls for cash management and payment visibility during the trial lifecycle. The customer reported reduced manual payment work and improved cash management as outcomes of the deployment.
