In 2019 Nestlé Waters North America deployed Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) as a Field Service Management solution to support an Android mobile Salesforce Lightning sales and field operations program. The initiative began in Stamford, CT in April 2019 and uses Salesforce Field Service Lightning as the core technology, including the mobile app and communicator components, to orchestrate field work.
The implementation centered on mobile-first field execution, with Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) configured to support Android device workflows, dispatch communication, and offline-capable mobile forms. The program was scoped as a $3M Android mobile Salesforce Lightning effort, and configuration work emphasized device-specific testing, communicator behavior, and mobile UI/UX validation within the Field Service Management context.
Operational delivery used a distributed team model with five onsite resources and fifteen offshore resources, operating under an Agile methodology. Coordination included program management, stakeholders, development, deployment teams, integration and functional business analysts, and business users for acceptance activities, reflecting enterprise cross-functional coverage across sales and field operations.
Governance was driven by a formal QA program led by a Test Manager who defined and implemented the program test strategy, established QA to business processes, and owned phase-wise test planning for functional, integration, and end-to-end scenarios. Responsibilities included hands-on Android mobile testing using Salesforce Field Service Lightning, test data management, defect management, UAT support with business teams, risk and issue management, testing effort estimation and budgeting, and reporting against metrics and Go-No-Go governance inputs.
