In 2015, Nexia implemented The Access Group APS Software Practice Management as its ERP Financial solution. The deployment at Nexia Melbourne tied the Practice Management application to on-premises infrastructure, with APS configured to run on MS SQL Server 2014 and supported by Windows Server and Exchange platforms to enable month-end processing and reporting workflows.
The Access Group APS Software Practice Management was configured to deliver core practice management capabilities, notably Client List maintenance, WIP reporting, productivity and budget reports, and month-end processing for finance teams. Application administration included SQL backup and restore tasks, scheduled backups on tape, and routine database scripting and maintenance performed through SQL Management Studio.
Operational integration and governance centered on Active Directory account management, Exchange email alias updates and a change of domain name, plus rollout of standardized email signatures and templates. IT ran due diligence, user induction and refresher training, and a train the trainer process while handling day-to-day support tasks such as helpdesk requests, printing, telephony and device support. The implementation supported a smooth transition for Nexia Melbourne into the broader Nexia network and established operational practices for ongoing APS administration and reporting.

In 2018, Nexia implemented Xero Practice Manager within its Legal Practice Management environment at the Nexia Perth office. The deployment supported the Perth office population that included three Directors of Audit and Assurance, the Human Capital Resource Manager, five Managers and all professional staff, and sat alongside broader Nexia Australia and New Zealand operations with links to Nexia International.
Xero Practice Manager was used for client database administration and scheduled work management, and it operated in the context of document integrity and control, quality control administration, and preparation of engagement documentation such as letters of engagement, proposals, valuations and tenders. The implementation aligned with typical Legal Practice Management workflows for engagement administration, scheduling and client recordkeeping while staff maintained quality control and Annual Independence Declaration processes.
Operational integrations and adjacent systems named in the configuration included Expensify for directors and audit team disbursement reconciliations, JobAdder for recruitment and onboarding administration, HowNow referenced alongside Xero Practice Manager, bank confirmations workflows, Australia Tax Office notice of assessments handling, Nimo database administration and ASIC extracts. These connections indicate Xero Practice Manager was administered as part of a practitioner workflow set that touched Audit and Assurance, HR recruiting and onboarding, and client financial reconciliation processes.
Governance and operational ownership remained with internal roles, with the Human Capital Manager and Directors overseeing scheduling, meeting coordination and quality control administration, and a Risk Manager for Audit and Assurance administering Nimo and quality control records. Nexia Xero Practice Manager Legal Practice Management supported Audit and Assurance and Human Resources business functions without explicit external implementation partner attribution.
