In 2016, Nokas Finland deployed Microsoft BizTalk Server to centralize and manage integration flows across its application portfolio. Microsoft BizTalk Server was implemented within a Data Migration context to provide a stable integration backbone connecting custom Microsoft applications, AngularJS front ends, and ServiceNow instances.
The deployment architecture positioned Microsoft BizTalk Server as the central integration hub, operating alongside Azure integration artifacts. Functional capabilities implemented include canonical message orchestration, adapter-based connectivity, mapping and transformation pipelines, and operational monitoring consistent with BizTalk Server patterns. Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices were applied to integration artifacts to support repeatable releases and maintenance.
Integrations were explicitly built using Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and SQL Server Integration Services, with Azure components used for cloud-native connectivity. The implementation covered design and architecture for inbound and outbound interfaces across the application portfolio, and leveraged Azure Active Directory and SQL Server related services for identity and data persistence where required. The team responsible managed both on-premises BizTalk components and associated Azure integration artifacts to maintain end-to-end message flow.
Governance and operational processes included design and implementation planning for new initiatives and capex projects, conversion of business requests into user stories and technical requirements, and leadership of a team of application integration and maintenance consultants. Operational stability and maintenance of the BizTalk server platform and Azure integrations artifacts were primary responsibilities, with application management practices extended to ServiceNow administration and integration architecture oversight. The implementation reflects an integrated Data Migration and integration strategy linking business teams to technical delivery through structured governance and CI/CD enabled release processes.
