In 2020, Northland Fishing Tackle Inc. implemented Aptean Apprise ERP. The deployment addressed a company wide need for lower total cost of ownership and faster time to value while improving supply chain and financial visibility. Aptean Apprise ERP is positioned as a Distribution ERP with industry specific functionality for wholesale and retail distribution.
Implementation focused on operational modules to track sales and expenses at transactional levels, enabling reporting by customer, product, and salesperson. Inventory management capabilities were configured to improve SKU control and inventory cost tracking, including inventory valuation and SKU level counts. Financial modules were used to centralize expense tracking and align cost accounting with inventory data. The Aptean Apprise ERP application provided new data access and reporting that Northland did not have before.
Northland elected to host Aptean Apprise ERP with Apprise, establishing a vendor managed application hosting model. Apprise also assumed management of Northland's EDI, consolidating electronic order and invoice exchanges under the vendor managed service. These choices reduced internal operational footprint and shifted EDI and hosting responsibilities to the Aptean Apprise ERP team.
The implementation impacted sales, finance, and inventory operations across the company, enabling management to analyze performance at a more granular level. Governance changes emphasized reliance on vendor managed services for hosting and EDI, freeing internal resources to focus on commercial operations. The Aptean Apprise ERP deployment met Northland's objectives for improved tracking of sales, expenses, SKUs, and inventory costs and delivered new operational data for decision making.
