| Verifact | Legacy | Verifact Blockchain | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2022 | 2022 | In 2022, Novelplast Ireland implemented Verifact Blockchain as a Blockchain Platform to pilot the Net360 traceability project. The Ireland based pilot tracked end of life fishing nets from collection through recycling into pellets and final products, and it diverted 10 tonnes of nets from landfill while producing consumer facing QR stories and data to support compliance reporting for disposal and circular economy metrics. The implementation centered on immutable on chain event capture for supply chain provenance, recording discrete events for collection, transport, recycling, pelletization and final product integration. Novelplast used Verifact Blockchain to link consumer facing QR stories to verifiable provenance records, providing a public narrative layer tied to the underlying ledger. These capabilities align with common Blockchain Platform functions such as provenance tagging, event sequencing, and permissioned read access for stakeholders. Operational coverage for the Net360 pilot remained Ireland focused, spanning collection sites and recycling operations and feeding structured disposal and circular economy metrics into reporting processes. The Verifact Blockchain deployment produced a persistent dataset intended to support compliance reporting, without naming integrations to other systems. Governance was implemented around chain of custody workflows and stakeholder access controls, ensuring that collection, processing and recycling events were attributed and time stamped on chain. The rollout emphasized traceability controls and consumer transparency through QR linked stories, embedding verification into operational workflows and reporting pipelines. Outcomes explicitly reported from the pilot include diversion of 10 tonnes of fishing nets from landfill, generation of consumer facing QR stories tied to verifiable events, and production of data to support disposal and circular economy compliance reporting. Verifact Blockchain was the named application used by Novelplast Ireland in this Blockchain Platform deployment. |
