In 2009, NPC International deployed Pivotal tc Server to run internal portals supporting HR, payroll, invoicing, vacation requests and employee training across its Pizza Hut estate in the United States. The Pivotal tc Server implementation is categorized as Apps Development and served as the standardized application runtime for multiple internal business functions.
The deployment configured high-density tc Server instance hosting on VMware virtual machines, enabling many Pivotal tc Server instances per host to maximize consolidation. Functional modules implemented included HR self-service portals, payroll processing interfaces, invoicing and billing portals, absence and vacation request workflows, and employee training content delivery.
Architecturally the environment emphasized virtualization-driven consolidation with tc Server instances provisioned on VMware virtual machines to improve application performance and availability, while reducing server footprint and associated costs. The rollout centralized portal operations across NPC International's US Pizza Hut sites and standardized the Apps Development runtime stack for internal operational systems.
