IBM Legacy IBM Maximo CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) ERP Services and Operations n/a 2016 2017
In 2016, Oman Airports Management Company implemented IBM Maximo CMMS as the Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) platform to centralize maintenance operations for Muscat International Airport and associated facilities. The implementation was executed during commissioning and facility takeover activities for the new terminal, cargo, catering and MRO buildings as part of technical services maintenance operations. The IBM Maximo CMMS deployment emphasized core CMMS capabilities, including asset registry and lifecycle records, planned preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, and maintenance checklists. Configuration work created PM schedules, SLA and KPI tracking constructs, standard operating procedures and escalation workflows, and a documentation library for O&M manuals and as-built drawings to support operational readiness and handover. A Master Control Center was designed and set up in parallel with automation workstations for Honeywell BMS, Honeywell EBI SCADA, ABB PMS, Carrier CMS, Kone E-Links, Safe gate SAM, Emersion CBC and JBT PBB to provide centralized monitoring and control. IBM Maximo CMMS was operated alongside these engineering control systems to manage PPM planning and execution, asset management and maintenance workflows, while project communications and document control during handover used Aconex for coordination between stakeholders and service providers. Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, including development of an Engineering O&M concept that defined SLAs, SOPs, KPI definitions, emergency response procedures and contingency plans. The program included team building and training to raise operational competency, and governance over contracts, supply chain and procurement was integrated into maintenance planning with Maximo acting as the maintenance management core across Muscat and Salalah technical services maintenance sections.
