EMIL Group Legacy EMIL Insurance Pricing and Rating Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine ERP Services and Operations Inacta 2025 2025
In 2025, Orion Legal Protection Insurance implemented EMIL Insurance Pricing and Rating, an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine. The move is part of a multi-year transformation and long-term partnership with EMIL Group and Inacta AG to position Orion for a future-proof, efficient, highly automated, and customer-centric IT infrastructure. The EMIL Insurance Pricing and Rating implementation maps Orion's core insurance lifecycle, including product development, quotation and application handling, policy issuance, claims processing, billing, and reporting. The EMIL Insurance Suite is configured using the vendor's no-code and low-code configuration options to accommodate numerous product and tariff variations across a six-figure customer and claims population and a premium volume exceeding CHF 80 million. The deployment is cloud-native and operated as a Software as a Service instance in Swiss data centers in Zurich, leveraging EMIL's open API architecture and integrated AI capabilities such as the EMILY assistant. EMIL Group asserts that the SaaS deployment meets Swiss regulatory requirements for data protection, compliance, and operational security, and the architecture is positioned to support rapid product launches and automation of underwriting and rating workflows. Inacta AG is the joint implementation partner leading requirements analysis, solution configuration, and post-implementation support, while also upgrading peripheral systems for input and document management and automating incoming mail. The project is executed by a joint team from Orion, Inacta, and EMIL, operating from Basel and remotely, and covers underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, and reporting functions across Orion's organization. Governance has been structured as a multi-year program with phased rollout and local implementation oversight, reflecting a long-term partnership commitment between Orion and EMIL. The program explicitly aims to centralize core pricing and rating capabilities in the EMIL Insurance Pricing and Rating solution and to create a unified platform for end-to-end digitalization of Orion's insurance business.
