| Plex Systems | Legacy | Plex DemandCaster | Demand Forecasting and Planning | SCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 | In 2020 OWS Foods implemented Plex DemandCaster as its Demand Forecasting and Planning application to centralize demand planning and cross facility inventory procurement across its blended spice and sauce manufacturing footprint. OWS Foods pursued the deployment to gain predictability and production efficiency after expanding into wet manufacturing and pursuing acquisition-driven growth. Plex DemandCaster was configured to provide demand forecasting and supply chain planning capabilities, including cross facility inventory procurement planning, multi-site production planning, and demand aggregation tied to SKU and lot level constraints. The deployment emphasized scenario-based supply planning and order forecast alignment with production scheduling, integrating planning outputs into shop floor execution workflows so planners could translate forecasts into batch schedules. The Demand Forecasting and Planning implementation was integrated into OWS Foods operational stack alongside Plex ERP and Plex MES, leveraging existing lot management, batch management, SPC checksheets, and EDI flows to unify accounting, raw material visibility, quality tracking, and production data. The solution was rolled into both existing facilities and newly acquired sites, including Head Country Barbeque, enabling cross facility procurement planning and a single source of truth for inventory and production status. Governance focused on technical and organizational change management to accelerate adoption, achieving high user engagement within four to five months of go live. Operationally the combined Plex ERP, MES and Plex DemandCaster environment provided real time production visibility for operators, improved traceability and lot-level reporting, increased total production efficiency, and improved ability to meet customer demand while supporting lower inventory exposure as procurement and planning matured. |
