Microsoft Legacy Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2015 2018
In 2015, PacWest Bancorp implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as the core Analytics and BI platform to centralize reporting and analytics across its institution. The deployment used Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012 on Windows Server 2008 with SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services forming the primary architecture for a purpose built data mart and reporting layer. Implementation work included end to end data mart design, covering logical and physical schema creation, and the production of a Data Mapping Document to reconcile source schemas to the data mart. ETL pipelines were built in SSIS to ingest text based files, Excel spreadsheets, and Access sources into SQL Server, using built in transformations such as slowly changing dimension handling, aggregates, lookups and data conversion, and techniques for early arriving facts and late arriving dimensions via inferred dimensions. Database object work included creation and optimization of T SQL batches, stored procedures, views, table valued and scalar functions, triggers, and index tuning to support both online and batch processing patterns. The Microsoft BI implementation encompassed SSAS cube development and SSRS report design, producing ad hoc, parameterized, drill down and drill through reports that consumed both cube and relational data models. Reporting and visualization capabilities extended to Power Pivot based dashboards and Tableau authored dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, with schedules, data connections and project organization in Tableau Server. Report distribution and automation were implemented through SQL Server Agent jobs for scheduled report delivery in multiple formats and SharePoint 2010 was used for SharePoint integrated mode report deployment. Governance and operationalization included establishing best practices for Tableau report development, creating report schedules, organizing reports and data sources, and administering report execution and history tracking. Robust T SQL error handling using try catch patterns and troubleshooting with SQL Profiler were applied to harden ETL and report performance. The implementation emphasized disciplined mapping, report administration and scheduling to support management level dashboards and ongoing BI operations.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Azure Cloud Services Application Hosting and Computing Services IaaS n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, PacWest Bancorp deployed Microsoft Azure Cloud Services for Application Hosting and Computing Services to host its public website and consolidate web-facing compute workloads. The implementation uses Microsoft Azure Cloud Services as the primary application hosting layer for the bank's external digital presence, aligning the Application Hosting and Computing Services category with web content delivery and scalable compute for customer facing pages. The architecture centers on cloud compute and managed platform capabilities to run web application runtimes and to store and serve static assets, with edge oriented content delivery and automated scaling described as part of the hosting pattern.
