In 2025 Pagosa Springs Medical Center adopted Oracle Public Safety Suite for Computer Aided Dispatch as part of a coordinated Archuleta County deployment that includes Pagosa Springs Police Department, Pagosa Fire Protection District, Pagosa Springs Medical Center Emergency Medical Services, the Archuleta County Combined Dispatch Center, and the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office. The deployment responds to operational demands across roughly 2,000 square miles and a variable population driven by seasonal tourism, positioning the hospital’s EMS function within a unified multi-agency public safety environment.
The implementation configured core modules of Oracle Public Safety Suite, including a cloud-based dispatch command center, Computer Aided Dispatch capabilities with interactive mapping, the Core Index person search, records management, jail management, and mobile data terminal support for in-vehicle and tablet reporting. The configuration emphasized unified hardware and software across agencies to enable field report completion on tablets, on-scene data capture, case number creation, and the ability to reopen incidents through a single system of record.
Architecturally the solution is hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and was implemented with CJIS security policy alignment as a priority. Operational integrations focused on GIS driven CAD mapping and interactive unit location feeds to provide up-to-the-second visibility for dispatchers and responders, and mobile data terminal connectivity that extended records access and reporting into the field for both vehicle and personal communications.
Governance and workflow changes centered on consolidating dispatch workflows and enabling real-time cross-agency information sharing, while agencies adopted regular suite updates after the initial go-live in March 2024. Reported outcomes include the ability for deputies to complete reports in the field rather than returning to the station, a reduced booking workflow measured in the field as completing the entire booking process in as few as 15 minutes compared to longer prior processes, and improved situational awareness and response coordination through Oracle Public Safety Suite.
