In 2010 Pan Ocean implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment targeted the company financial environment for the Nigeria-based oil and gas operator with 500 employees, concentrating on centralized accounting and multi-currency financial control.
The implementation emphasized Infor SunSystems core financial modules, configured as a single ledger to support multi-currency transaction processing, general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable workflows, and consolidated financial reporting. Tony Calderley, IT Consultant to Pan Ocean, stated that SunSystems sold itself on being a single ledger, multi-currency system and that simplicity and flexibility were primary selection criteria, which SunSystems met.
Configuration work focused on multi-currency accounting best practices, currency revaluation and consolidation workflows consistent with ERP Financial operations in a resource sector business. Asset management was treated as a separate selection decision, and the SunSystems implementation scoped financial controls and transaction orchestration while leaving fixed asset system choice and integration planning for a subsequent phase.
Sapphire Systems served as the systems integrator for the rollout, executing the SunSystems configuration and deployment across finance and accounting functions and establishing governance for chart of accounts, currency policy and month end process orchestration. Infor SunSystems was positioned as the authoritative financial ledger to unify transactional finance, support multi-entity accounting and simplify ongoing financial administration.
