The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to cover finance modules and operational capabilities typical of an ERP Financial environment, including general ledger and subledger processing, accounts payable and receivable, order-to-cash, procurement, inventory and master planning. The effort also addressed complex billing scenarios referenced by the organization, spanning SaaS, product and service revenue streams and considerations for hardware manufacturing planning.
Integrations were organized around FO integrations and coordination with Dynamics 365 CRM to manage cross-application dependencies and align customer, sales and financial data flows. Multi-divisional stakeholder collaboration was explicit, with the Finance and Operations Product team working directly with Finance, Accounting, Audit, Sales, Service and Implementation to ensure transactional and master data consistency across systems.
Governance and rollout were structured through a product management model led by a Sr. Product Manager and supported by a Business Analyst for Finance and Operations, operating in an Agile Scrum environment. Roadmapping, prioritization, sprint planning, demos, sprint retrospectives and release planning were used to sequence feature delivery, and compliance requirements such as SOX and PCI were embedded as constraints in design and acceptance criteria.
