In 2017, Pareto Asset Management implemented SS&C Advent Portfolio Exchange as its Portfolio and Investment Management platform. The deployment followed a long standing relationship with Advent technologies, where Pareto previously operated Axys for portfolio management and reporting and used Moxy for order management and Tradex for fund order management and distribution, and the APX decision was driven by the need to support merger-driven growth after the consolidation with Pareto Nordic Investments which increased assets under management by approximately 10 percent and expanded portfolio and instrument scope.
SS&C Advent Portfolio Exchange was configured to provide centralized portfolio management and enhanced reporting capabilities, with explicit emphasis on data extraction, data quality checks and full scale auditing across all system data. The APX implementation included reporting templates and automation to streamline regulatory and client reporting workflows, and the system was noted as easier to train on and navigate which reduced onboarding time for new users and increased operational efficiency.
The APX implementation was integrated with Advent Moxy for order management and Tradex for fund order automation and distribution, creating an end to end transfer agent workflow with straight through processing from client orders to NAV calculation. Advent Rules Manager was implemented to run compliance and allocation checks in the background, linking trade validation to policy and client restrictions and surfacing only exception breaks for compliance teams. Operational coverage extended across investment management, operations, compliance and client reporting teams.
Governance and process changes centered on automated rule execution and documented break histories, enabling Pareto to maintain scheduled allocation checks and produce auditable records for regulatory reporting. Full scale auditing of transaction and master data provided an information trail to support complex compliance cases and to continuously identify potential operational improvements, while Rules Manager reduced manual trade checking and shifted resource focus to exception handling.
Pareto reported the migration to APX as smooth and cost efficient, with APX and its adjunct modules providing the platform flexibility and scalability needed to support growth and increasing regulatory demands. The firm also cited ongoing vendor support as fast, reliable and flexible, which reinforced operational resilience and the sustainability of the deployment.

The implementation is focused on hosting and application delivery for Pareto's investor-facing web presence, supporting corporate content, client access points, and web application runtimes from Azure infrastructure in Norway.
The Microsoft Azure Cloud Services deployment leverages category-aligned capabilities typical of Application Hosting and Computing Services, including cloud compute for web application runtime, object storage for site assets, and content delivery mechanisms for broad access. Operational ownership sits with Pareto's digital and IT teams, and the hosted environment is used alongside content management and web analytics systems to provide TLS termination, scalability, and platform-level monitoring for the website.
