SCC Soft Computer Legacy SCC SoftMic Laboratory Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2016 2019
In 2016, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA implemented SCC SoftMic as part of a Laboratory Management deployment across its public pathology network in Western Australia. SCC SoftMic was provisioned to support microbiology laboratory workflows within the broader SCC LIS suite, aligning the company, SCC SoftMic, Laboratory Management and microbiology business functions in a single implementation narrative. The deployment configured standard Laboratory Management capabilities typical for a microbiology LIS, including specimen accessioning, result reporting, workflow automation for culture and susceptibility processes, and electronic worklists to support laboratory processing and clinical reporting. Configuration work focused on microbiology functional modules and automated laboratory workflows to improve data capture and result traceability across sites. PathWest later integrated SCCs transfusion and blood module SoftBank with the National Blood Authority to enable near real time blood inventory visibility and delivery processing across Western Australia laboratories. The integration extended operational coverage beyond microbiology to transfusion services, connecting SCC SoftMic microbiology operations and SoftBank transfusion workflows into a multisite pathology network architecture. Governance and rollout followed a staged multisite approach to align laboratory operations and clinical transfusion workflows, and SCCs documentation of multi module deployments for multisite public pathology networks notes measurable time savings and improved data accuracy as outcomes of such implementations.
