Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud HCM Core HR HCM n/a 2019 2020
In 2019, Patterson-UTI took over a failing HCM Cloud implementation and implemented Oracle Cloud HCM for Core HR. The engagement targeted a consolidated Core HR deployment across US and Canada for a 5,000 employee enterprise and established a program to stabilize scope, timelines, and integration requirements after the midstream takeover. The implementation delivered Oracle Cloud HCM modules for Core HR, Benefits, Oracle Recruiting Cloud ORC, Performance Management, Compensation, and Learning Management. Configuration work focused on centralized employee records, position and job structures, benefits enrollment flows, recruiting workflows, performance cycle orchestration, compensation plan configuration, and learning assignment automation consistent with Core HR functional workflows. Integrations were built primarily with SnapLogic, connecting Cloud HCM to third party providers for background checks, drug screens, and benefits exchanges through Known2U. A ground up integration layer was developed to enable coexistence with Oracle E-Business Suite, synchronizing time and labor OTL, payroll interactions, financial interfaces, and SCM touchpoints between on premise EBS and Oracle Cloud HCM. Project governance was restructured after the takeover to standardize testing, cutover sequencing, and data reconciliation between systems, with phased rollout across US and Canada entities. Oracle Cloud HCM went live in August 2020, with the deployment covering Core HR and adjacent talent and benefits processes for the scoped enterprise population.
