In 2020, PayNearby India integrated iText 7 Core, part of iText Suite, into its server infrastructure to generate PDFs for KYC onboarding and transaction receipts across its branchless banking network. This deployment targeted Document Management use cases in finance and payments, scaling to produce millions of documents annually and supporting digital and printed delivery channels.
The implementation used iText 7 Core provided by Apryse Software as the PDF rendering and generation engine within iText Suite, configured for server-side template rendering and automated document assembly. Functional capabilities implemented included structured KYC document creation, transaction receipt formatting, and high-volume PDF serialization to support batch and real-time issuance.
Integrations were executed at the platform and channel layer, embedding PDF generation into onboarding workflows and transaction processing pipelines, and enabling downstream delivery to customers via digital channels such as WhatsApp as well as physical printing at retail partners. Operational coverage spanned payments operations, onboarding teams, and the retail partner network, aligning document output formats with compliance and customer communication requirements.
Governance and rollout focused on centralizing PDF generation within the core server infrastructure to improve reliability and consistency of document outputs. Outcomes explicitly noted included improved document generation reliability and the ability for customers to receive transaction PDFs digitally or as printed receipts at retail partners, with the solution operating at a scale of millions of documents per year.
