In 2018 Pension Protection Fund implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, centering the deployment on Oracle Financials Cloud ERP to support the finance organization at the PPF in the United Kingdom. The Financial Controller led the design, set up and maintenance of Oracle Cloud ERP while managing a team of eight finance professionals, establishing ownership of the PPF financial control framework and risk management for transactional finance. This implementation is classified as ERP Financial and focused on strengthening core financial operations.
Configuration work emphasized core financial modules common to Oracle Financials Cloud ERP, including general ledger configuration, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, cash management controls, and structured monthly close processes. The Financial Controller retained responsibility for cost and value for money management within the system, embedding financial control rules and month end orchestration into application configuration and operational procedures.
Governance for the Oracle Cloud ERP implementation centered on process ownership within the finance function, with the Financial Controller overseeing transactional finance, monthly close, cash management and ongoing system maintenance. Risk management and the financial control framework were formalized as part of the application operating model, aligning application configuration with financial control responsibilities and monthly reporting workflows.

In 2017 Pension Protection Fund assisted with the launch of MHR iTrent HR at its Croydon HR site. The deployment used the Core HR application to centralize employee record management, introduce employee self-service workflows, and support an HR intranet project tied to onboarding and offboarding processes.
The implementation focus included an employee file retention and archiving capability, configuration of self-service HR functions, and structured onboarding and exit workflows. MHR iTrent HR was exercised through UAT testing cycles, classroom and hands-on training for employees and line managers, and creation of standard HR documents and templates to support new starter inductions and exit interviews. Operational tasks recorded during the rollout included answering employee queries, scheduling HR meetings, and administering purchase orders, reflecting configuration for case handling and document management within the Core HR environment.
Governance and process workstreams ran concurrently with technical activities between February 2017 and June 2017 at Croydon, with HR administrators leading file retention policy implementation and the intranet project. The new archiving approach was implemented to improve ease of access and to create more time-efficient HR file retrieval processes, and the HR team provided ongoing support to wider HR operations as the MHR iTrent HR self-service capability was adopted.
