In 2020, Perfetti Van Melle's IBM Maximo implementation in the Enterprise Asset Management category was documented by Codub Consulting. The case study records an engagement that began with a Codub kickoff in April 2018, progressed to a production go live on 24 September 2018, and concluded with a full migration of the environment to Perfetti Van Melle onsite servers by January 2019.
Codub implemented IBM Maximo 7.6 using DB2 and IBM WebSphere as the core deployment architecture, initially hosting the solution on Codub cloud services before the onsite server migration. The implementation covered core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities and workflows including asset and location registers, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and work order management, spares inventory and storerooms, service request handling, hazards and safety plan tracking, and user, labor and security group configuration.
The project scope emphasized end to end asset lifecycle management from acquisition to retirement, with business requirement gathering, bulk data migration from Excel Word and PDF sources, functional testing, and user acceptance testing. Configuration work included maintenance scheduling, inventory control and supply chain visibility, and report instrumentation to support management decision making, enabling a transition from paper based and spreadsheet driven processes to a computer based maintenance operation for the Agbara factory engineering and asset management teams.
Governance and rollout activities were formalized through software and hardware procurement, server delivery and installation, training programs, and post go live support delivered by Codub Consulting, who acted as the IBM Certified Maximo reseller and implementation partner. The implementation approach combined configuration, data migration, UAT and staged cutover from cloud hosting to on premise servers to align operations with Perfetti Van Melle maintenance and stores processes.
Post implementation outcomes reported in the Codub case study include elimination of paper in standard processes, accelerated processing and closure of job requests, higher workflow transparency, increased operational efficiency and productivity, reduced operating expenses, improved response times, reduced human error, greater accessibility to asset and maintenance history, and optimized spare parts levels through improved inventory visibility.
