In 2023, Pharmacal implemented QAD Redzone Connected Workforce as its Workforce Management solution on the shop floor in the United States. The deployment centralized digital work instructions and checklist execution to remove manual paperwork and enforce standardized quality and setup checks across production lines.
The implementation moved quality audits, weight checks, line startups and machine setups into QAD Redzone Connected Workforce, configuring workflow templates for checklist sequencing, pass fail capture and operator acknowledgements. Functional capabilities implemented included digital audit workflows, weight verification records, startup and setup procedures and visibility into task completion for production operators and supervisors.
Pharmacal integrated QAD Redzone Connected Workforce with QAD ERP to align work orders and production context with frontline checklists and audit records. The integration synchronized operational context from the ERP to the shop floor, enabling audit data and setup results to be associated with specific production runs and line activities.
Governance emphasized standardizing shop floor processes and shifting paperwork into digital workflows, with rollout focused on production and quality teams in the United States. According to the QAD case study, Pharmacal eliminated roughly 80% of paperwork and recorded a 12.5 point improvement in OEE after the implementation.
